Module 2: Probability Distribution

Objectives of Practicun
  1. Knowing and unsderstanding the concept of discrete distribution and continuous distributions.
  2. Knowing and understanding how to process data on discrete distribution and continuous distributions.
  3. Understanding and analyzing the difference of empirical and theoretical data.
Benefit of Practicum The benefit from this practicum are:
  1. Practicioner know and unsderstand the concept of discrete distribution and continuous distributions.
  2. Practicioner know and understand how to process data on discrete distribution and continuous distributions.
  3. Practicioner can uderstand and analyzr the difference of empirical and theoretical data.
Flowchart of 2nd Module Practicum Picture2 Practicum Procedure Here is a procedure that used on probability distribution practicum. Binomial and Geometric Distribution Procedure Here is binomial and geometric distribution procedure:
  1. Prepare tools and materials.
  2. There are 5 red heart cards, 5 black spade cards, 5 red spade cards, and 5 black curly cards.
  3. Shuffle cards.
  4. Take the top of cards, note in the observation table, binomial distribution if elected black curly cards, and insert back the card.
  5. For geometric distribution, success event if elected black spade card.
  6. Doing card shuffling up to 10 timed (1 replication).
  7. Repeat up to 5 replications.
  8. Analysis and interpretation.
Hipergeometric Distribution Procedure Here is hipergeometric distribution procedure:
  1. Prepare tools and materials.
  2. There are 5 queen cards and 25 cards except queen. With the provison queen card as a defect product.
  3. Shuffle cards.
  4. Take one by one without repayment up to 5 cards are drawns ( 1 replication).
  5. Note the frequency appearance of curly black card (defect product) every 1 replication.
  6. Repeat up to 10 replications.
  7. Analysis and interpretation.
Pascal Distribution Procedure Here is pascal distribution procedure:
  1. Prepare tools and materials
  2. There are 20 bridge cards consist of 5 red heart cards, 5 red spade cards, 5 black spade cards and 5 black curly cards.
  3. Shuffle cards.
  4. Take the top of cards to know what kind of cards appearance, reinsert the card fetched
  5. Do step 3 until one red heart card fetched.
  6. Success event if drawn three red hearts card, record the number of shots until the first success occurred in 1 time replication on observation sheet.
  7. Repeat up to 10 replications.
  8. Analysis and interpretation.
Poisson Distribution Procedure Here is pascal distribution procedure:
  1. Prepare tools and materials
  2. There are 40 bridge cards consist of 4 AS cards, and 36 cards except AS cards
  3. Take card without return until AS card appear (success event).
  4. Doing it for 1 minute in 1 replication ( assume 1 minute doing 60 time of take the cards)
  5. Note the number of AS card drawn (success event) in 1 replication
  6. Analysis and interpretation
Normal Distribution Procedure Here is normal distribution procedure:
  1. Prepare tools and materials, 4 member of group
  2. There is a container that consist of 3 steckers which will be assemble.
  3. One member of group as operator to assemble component of stecker. One member of group as disassemble stecker in order to be used again for assemble operator. While the other member run and stop the stopwatch and the last member record the time it takes for doing 1 replication.
  4. Operator assemble doing experiment first.
  5. Start doing replication by starting the stopwatch.
  6. When the replication is over, operator assemble the other stecker, and one member of group disassemble the stecker.
  7. Doing it until 35 replications.
  8. Record the results on table observation.
Analysis and interpretation.
